The Plant Power Blend is how I start most mornings: one simple, plant-based blend of protein, healthy fats, berries, cacao and fiber.

The ingredients

01 / The clean base

Pea protein

A plant protein that supplies all nine essential amino acids, including leucine. It is naturally lower in methionine than most animal proteins.

02 / The fats

Extra-virgin olive oil and walnuts

Olive oil adds monounsaturated fat and polyphenols such as oleocanthal. Walnuts add alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant omega-3, and ellagitannins, which gut bacteria can turn into urolithin A in some people.

03 / The berries

Blueberries and raspberries

Blueberries bring anthocyanins, the pigments behind their color. Raspberries bring ellagic acid and plenty of fiber. Together they add flavor and micronutrients with little sugar.

04 / The depth

Cacao

Rich in cocoa flavanols, natural plant compounds.

05 / The fiber

Inulin

A soluble prebiotic fiber from chicory root. Gut bacteria ferment it into short-chain fatty acids.
